Sabah has its own version of the MM2H visa for people who would like to live there. There are three tiers – Silver, Gold and Platinum with the last one permitting holders to work. Where the requirements for each tier are different, it is stated below
30 years old and above.
Spouse (husband/wife) ; biological children/stepchildren/adopted children below 21 years old.; parents and parents-in-law.
- Must buy a high-rise property with a minimum price of RM600,000 (Minium for Silver tier is RM1 million and Platinum is RM2 million.
- Required to retain property for ten years but can exchange property.
- Single: RM10,000 and above.
- Couple/Family: RM15,000 and above.
Silver RM500,000 (Gold – US$500,000; Platinum – US$1 million)
At least 30 days in Sabah.
Not allowed except with the Platinum tier
Maximum up to 40% after 2 years to buy property, education, or medical treatment
Silver – 5 years; Gold – 10 years; Platinum – 20 years (all tiers are renewable)
Can transfer to spouse until the end of visa term
