Sarawak has had its own MM2H visa for many years. The rules stated below were the ones in place in 2024 and earlier, but we understand there are going to be changes in 2025. We are waiting for the official announcement but we understand the state government will be increasing the fixed deposit and lowering the minimum age. We will update this page as we learn more
Here are some key requirements for the visa (note extra requirements for younger applicants)
50 years old and above – see below for younger applicants.
- Single: RM50,000 and above.
- Couple/Family: RM100,000 and above.
- Single: RM7,000 and above.
- Couple/Family: RM10,000 and above.
- Single: RM150,000
- Couple/Family: RM300,000
At least a cumulative stay of 30 days in Sarawak within a year.
Not allowed – Only work remotely for a foreign entity.
- Maximum up to 40% after 2 years of first endorsement.
- Purchase property, car deposit, education for children or medical expenses only.
10 years
Age 40 – 49
- As above but must buy a property in Sarawak of RM600,000 or above
Age 30 – 39
- As above but must either:
- Buy a property in Sarawak of RM600,000 or above OR
- Have children being educated in Sarawak between the ages of 7 and 18
